The White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said today that the United States “does not believe what is happening in Gaza is a genocide.”

"We believe Israel can and must do more to ensure the protection and wellbeing of innocent civilians,” added Joe Biden’s top national security official to reporters in the briefing room.

On the recent ceasefire negotiation which broke-down, the White House said that the world must urge Hamas to return to the negotiation table and agree to a prisoner exchange deal.

“We are tirelessly working towards a ceasefire and the release of hostages,” Sullivan said, “Sinwar is the one who violated the ceasefire, and the United States aims to defeat Hamas.”
